This is the inspirational story of John Gurdon, who in high school began to find his passion for biology. Unfortunately, he was written off by his science teacher as a lost cause. But John never gave up and with the emotional support of two "giants" in his life, eventually made a major discovery that led to his winning the 2012 Nobel Prize in medicine. His story is a perfect example of the key elements that lead to long-term fulfillment and happiness.

Nearly 10 years ago, I was asked to write an essay on what it was like to be an entrepreneur most of my professional life, and what it was like to navigate what often was a difficult path to success.
